70% of CMOs & Marketing Managers miss This completely and Fail
If you’ve been tasked with a website relaunch or a new build and been told “don’t mess this up”…
…You already know what’s at stake:
- Your boss is watching.
- Your team is counting on you.
- Your reputation is on the line.
You are stressed, but, every agency you talk to makes it sound simple…
Until it’s not.
The problem isn’t your budget, team, or even the agency you choose. It’s whether you see the trap before you step in it.
This is How website projects usually go
Professional Vetting
Multiple agencies evaluated. Discovery sessions held. References checked. You choose the agency with the best proposal, portfolio and process.
Confident Start
Kickoff goes smoothly. Their proposal covered everything. Weekly check-ins established. You feel you have the project completely under control.
First Doubts
The agency says:
- “We didn’t realize your system worked that way.” Proposal covered integration, but not its dependencies.
- “We can build that, but we haven’t discussed this before.” You now need additional time and budget.
Their discovery never went deep enough. Scope creep emerges from features that looked clear but weren’t properly defined.
The Unraveling
Original timeline blown. Emergency meetings. Your boss is asking questions. “User dashboard” meant different things to different stakeholders.
Full Crisis
You’re explaining to the board why you need 50% more budget and 3 more months.
The finger-pointing starts.
Your team loses faith.
Your boss loses patience.
Everyone’s looking down on you.
The agency’s process seemed bulletproof.
But they failed to capture many of the key details.
Late Nights & Stress Are the New Routine
You want to cut ties with the agency, but you’ve invested too much already.
You’re analysing the build deeper and finding more missing features.
You’re not able to disconnect when you get home, and the project is on your mind 24/7.
We’ve helped organizations like CH&CO, Bridgestone, Government bodies, Prominent Architect Firms, and Hundreds of SMEs avoid the chaos that destroys most projects.

And over the course of 11+ years, this is the data we gathered along the way from CMOs, Marketing Managers and CEOs who came to us after a failed website project:
60% average cost overrun
Your £35K project becomes £56K
56% less value delivered
Features cut, functionality reduced, promises broken
100% timeline slip
Your Q2 launch happens in Q4… if you’re lucky
10 in 10 hit Scope Creep
Complete budget catastrophe
So how do you avoid project failure? and how do you guarantee project success, so that your boss and your team look at you like a hero and you can meet your KPIs?
The Only Way To Avoid Project Failure
I’m Marco Navarro, Managing Partner at NexusBond, and after 11 years guiding hundreds of CMOs, Marketing Leaders & CEOs through website relaunches & new builds, and winning awards along the way, we found one clear pattern that separates successful projects from inevitable failure.
Marco Navarro
Managing Partner, NexusBond Ltd
This pattern is not:
- Leveraging AI to plan your project
- Relying good looking agency proposals
- Or sitting together with your team to figure it out
It’s the same answer that has helped hundreds of CMOs, Marketing Managers & CEOs relaunch their websites and build new ones with complete clarity, where:
- Every KPI was hit
- Deadlines were met
- Budgets stayed intact
Most importantly, their teams, bosses and investors saw them as reliable, competent leaders who delivered.

The #1 Element To AvoidProject Failure
Your Custom
Project Blueprint
This Document Changes Everything.
With it, You Deliver your website project on time, on budget, and fully aligned with every KPI.
This Is NOT What You Think:
❌ Not a sales pitch
❌ Not a proposal
❌ Not a vague scope document
❌ Not a guess dressed as a plan
This is a Project Blueprint.
A document that provides executable clarity created before a single line of code is written.

What's actually inside:
- Every Feature Mapped : Specific functionality, dependencies, and acceptance criteria so developers can’t claim confusion
- Hours And Minutes Calculated : Data-driven projections based on actual complexity so budgets stay locked
- Stakeholder Responsibilities Defined : Who owns what, who approves what, so no one can dodge accountability
- Technical Architecture Documented : Infrastructure, integrations, security requirements so nothing breaks at launch
- Risk Mitigation Planned – Technical debt identified, edge cases covered, so surprises can’t derail your timeline
So How Is This Different From A Proposal?
At First Glance, A Proposal:
- Looks Great
- Appears To Be Comprehensive
- Is quick to put together
- Doesn’t require much of your time
- Feels like the obvious, correct path
But here’s the reality of the situation:
Their Proposal
Your Blueprint
Once you have your Blueprint, you become UNTOUCHABLE.
You can take it to any agency, and they can’t hide behind vague quotes anymore because every requirement is spelled out.
They can’t claim “that wasn’t in scope” because the scope is documented down to the pixel.
When they claim delays, you show them the timeline they agreed to follow.
They can’t surprise you with change orders because the Blueprint already accounts for dependencies and edge cases.
When the agency says “that’ll be extra,” you point to page 47 where it’s clearly defined.
So how do you go from where you are to having
your Project blueprint?
Creating Your Blueprint is deceptively hard
- What should it cover?
- How is it organized?
- Who owns each decision?
- What are the acceptance criteria so everyone knows what to do?
- When to do it
- And how to execute without guesswork?
That’s Why In Order To Create Your Blueprint,
You Need a Cross Functional Team of Senior Experts
Depending on your Project, your Blueprint areas are analysed by a:
- UI Lead
- UX Architect
- Frontend Lead
- Backend Lead
- DevOps Lead
- Technical Architect
- Accessibility / QA Lead
- Product Manager
Let’s face it: without a Senior Tech Team, completing a real Blueprint is mission impossible.
But with the team in the room, you get decisions in the right order and at the right depth:
That’s what stops overruns and rework.
So how does this process work exactly?
How do you go from being where you are to having a fully completed blueprint, so that there’s:
- No confusion.
- No surprises.
- No time wasted.
Here's how protection actually gets built:
Step 1
Discovery Call (15 minutes)
This is a short, 15 to 30 minute high level overview introductory meeting. You'll be asked few very high-level questions to understand the basics of your project. We’ll confirm whether your project is a fit for the full Blueprint session and schedule the Blueprint Discovery Session.
Step 2
Blueprint Discovery Session
Deep dive analysis. We focus on your project to extract all knowledge from stakeholders, document requirements and uncover hidden complexities.
As we discover critical details, you may need time to coordinate with your team and gather additional input. We move at your pace. This is where assumptions die and clarity begins - saving you from "surprise" requirements six months later.
Step 3
Blueprint Analysis
Our Cross-Functional Senior Team dissects every detail:
- UI Lead maps the user experience so your customers actually convert
- UX Architect structures information flow so users find what they need
- Frontend Lead defines interface requirements so everything works across devices
- Backend Lead architects data and logic so the site scales with your growth
- Technical Architect ensures scalability so you're not rebuilding in two years
- DevOps plans infrastructure so your site stays fast under load
- QA Lead builds testing criteria so bugs don't embarrass you at launch
- Product Manager ties it all together so nothing falls through cracks
Step 4
Documentation
Everything gets documented. Real timelines. Dependency maps that prevent bottlenecks. Acceptance criteria that define "done." Time calculations broken down by the minute so you know exactly how long it will take to build it.
Step 5
Your Blueprint Delivered
We present the Blueprint in a guided walkthrough: every page explained, every question answered.
We also provide a clear, costed proposal that turns the Blueprint into an actionable execution plan, but whether you choose to work with us or not, it's up to you.
By now, you understand the value of the Project Blueprint, but…
How much does it cost?
At the enterprise end, consultancy firms charge 5 figures to create this.
We’ve flipped the model: If you qualify, we produce your Project Blueprint for a fixed £2,500 + VAT.
You’ll receive the Blueprint to keep, plus a costed implementation proposal if you want us to execute.
But Surely AI can build your blueprint & save you all that time
As a tech-first team, we use AI every day.
But we would never let it plan your project.
Here’s why:
Teams are racing to use AI for everything.
- ChatGPT writes their scopes.
- Claude plans their architecture.
- AI agents even build entire sites.
And it all looks impressive… diagrams, timelines, even code. But when 5-figures and your reputation are on the line…
You can’t afford a guess disguised as a plan.
AI Promises
- Instant project scopes in seconds
- AI generated architectures
- Automated estimates
Reality Delivers
- Generic templates that miss your specific needs
- “Hallucinated” features that shouldn’t be in your project
- Security gaps and compliance issues overlooked
- No understanding of your internal politics or Stakeholders
The worst part?
According to MIT, 95% of AI led projects fail
and the 5% that succeed are closely monitored and implemented by
a team of Senior developers.
In projects where we have been handed an AI built website,
the clean up has ended up costing more than starting from scratch.
Here are some of the cracks these AI projects show:
- Fragmented code.
- Invented endpoints.
- Features that looked complete.
- Multi duplicate code.
- Piles of trash in the server.
The lesson here?
The process must be AI Assisted, Human led.
Two Futures
You’re here. Which path will you take?
❌ Path A: "We'll figure it out as we go"
Week 1
Scope creep begins
Week 12
"This isn't what we meant"
Week 18
Emergency stakeholder meetings
Week 24
59% over budget
Week 32
"Maybe we should look for someone new in this role"
✅ Path B: "Blueprint first. Build later."
Week 1
Every stakeholder aligned
Week 8
No surprise change orders
Week 16
Development on track
Week 24
On time, on budget
Week 32
"This is how projects should run"

The Proof
- 11 years refining the Blueprint methodology
- Hundreds of projects delivered
- 4.9 rating
From enterprise giants to ambitious SMEs, one thing remains constant:
When there’s a Blueprint, there’s accountability among teams & agencies.
When there’s accountability, there’s success.
The Same Decision Hundreds of CMOs, Marketing Managers & CEOs Have Made
Every website project starts with a choice.
You can follow the crowd: Google agencies, collect quotes, and hope for the best. That path is well known.
Out of the 100% who take it – 70% fail.
Or you can choose differently.
Start with clarity.
Start with protection.
Start with a Blueprint that exposes weak agencies, prevents overruns, and guarantees the success of your project.
This is your insurance policy against becoming another statistic, another cautionary tale, another marketing manager replaced after a botched project.

The Catch
We only produce 5 Blueprints per month.
Our senior team capacity is Finite.
So we’re only taking projects That Qualify.
***If we never work together after the Blueprint, you’ll still have everything you need to ensure project success.
Why We’re Doing This
We know what’s at stake:
- Your reputation.
- Your team’s confidence.
- Your boss’s trust.
When projects fail, careers end. Average CMO & Marketing Manager tenure is just 40 months. Marketing managers get replaced when websites underperform.
That’s why the Blueprint is yours to keep. Take it to any agency. Use it to evaluate proposals. Hold vendors accountable to it.
If we never speak again after delivery, you’ll still have saved months of chaos and protected your project from the 70% failure rate.

What you get from the Project Blueprint process
When you book the Project Blueprint, you’re not just buying a document.
You’re benefiting from a senior led process that extracts the truth, removes assumptions, and turns it into an implementation ready plan.
The Blueprint Discovery Session
That moment where you pay tens of thousands and just hope it comes back right? Gone. You’ve already seen it. You’ve already clicked through it. You’ve already agreed on it.
Senior Analysis
After the session, your inputs are analysed by a cross functional team of senior specialists:
- UI Lead
- UX Architect
- Frontend Lead
- Backend / integrations Lead
- Technical architect
- QA/accessibility / non-functional requirements
- DevOps Lead
This is where assumptions get challenged, gaps are found, and scope is made real.
The Project Blueprint Document
The output is a single source of truth that your team, or any vendor, can execute against:
- Scope map: pages, sections, key journeys
- Feature breakdown: sub-tasks + dependencies
- Integrations & constraints captured clearly
- Acceptance criteria: what “done” means
- Itemised effort: hours by design / frontend / backend
- Delivery notes: sequencing, risks, timeline assumptions
- Walkthrough: presented clearly for stakeholder sign-off
This is where assumptions get challenged, gaps are found, and scope is made real.
Bonus: An implementation proposal generated directly from the Blueprint, so you can see how we would execute the project.
If you qualify, you’ll be able to book your Blueprint Discovery Call.
FAQs
Straight Answers
If this is worth 5-figures, why are you charging £2,500 + VAT?
The Project Blueprint is senior led and normally priced at 5 figures at the enterprise end. We’ve standardised the process over the past 11 years and kept it productised, so qualified projects can access it for a fixed £2,500 + VAT.
Because the process is deep and collaborative, many choose to continue working with us, but you’re never obliged to.
If I go through this, am I going to be locked into working with you or dealing with aggressive sales follow-ups?
No. The Blueprint is yours the moment it’s delivered. We provide an implementation proposal, but you’re not obligated to move forward with us.
Whether you choose to implement the project internally with your own team or externalise it with someone else, the Blueprint will help you evaluate their approach and proposal.
You keep saying you only take projects that 'qualify'. What does that actually mean?
After clicking, you’ll fill out a brief 2 minute form with basic information. The Blueprint process is designed for decision makers or managers (CMOs, Marketing Managers, CEOs) leading projects with a minimum budget of £15k. If you’re a decision-maker on a website relaunch/build above that threshold, you qualify.
What actually happens in the Blueprint Session?
We dissect your project and identify your needs, document requirements, and uncover hidden complexities at your pace. As we discover critical details, you may need time to coordinate with your team and gather additional input. This is what saves you from “surprise” requirements and “we never discussed this” emergencies six months later.
We'll be revealing sensitive data. How do I know this information stays protected?
The first call is just a get to know you conversation, no sensitive details required yet. Before the full Blueprint Session, we offer NDAs if your organization requires it.
You say I can take this to other agencies, but will it actually work as a vendor evaluation tool? Or is it written in a way that only you can execute?
Any agency can use the Blueprint. Every requirement has technical specs with acceptance criteria. Any competent agency can quote against it. You’ll see exactly if they’re cutting corners, inflating hours, or missing dependencies.
Do I need sign-offs or budget approval to even get started?
No. After clicking, you’ll answer a few brief questions (under 2 minutes). Then we schedule a 15–25 minute Fit Call to confirm scope, stakeholders, and timeline.
If you’re accepted and choose to proceed, we confirm the fixed £2,500 +VAT investment and schedule the Blueprint Discovery Session.
